Role Overview
Provides direct patient care in a pediatric trauma center emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Develops and documents individualized care plans, collaborates with the healthcare team, and assesses patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting cultural and personal values.
Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate patient needs and barriers to care, proactively communicating across care continuum.
- Minimum education:
Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree; preferred Bachelor’s in Nursing. - Licensure: RN license required.
- Experience:
No experience required; 2+ years in pediatric or emergency care preferred. - Competencies:
Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work safely and effectively in a high-stakes environment.
- Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, and professional development activities.
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication administration.
- Contribute to a healing environment by providing compassionate, high-quality care.
