American Traveler is hiring an Oncology RN for a 13-week day-shift assignment requiring 2 years of oncology experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details- Outpatient cancer center clinic setting located on the ground floor of the main hospital building
- Infusion center supporting both inpatient and outpatient oncology patients
- Average daily census of 80 patients with 16 visits per day across 2 rooms
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within service line as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact license must match permanent residence)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with infusion therapy, port care, and immunotherapy management preferred
- Skilled in recognizing and managing treatment side effects such as nausea, neuropathy, and altered mental status
- Experience coordinating care for oncology patients across various cancer types preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Coordinate care for clinic patients throughout their cancer treatment journey
- Monitor Epic inbasket messages and manage prescription refill requests
- Provide patient education and psychosocial support
- Assist with symptom management including GI, skin, and mucous membrane complications
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no time off permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any affiliated facility
- Returning travelers must complete an 18-month assignment period followed by a 3-month break in service
