Mercy St. Louis’ RN Career Path Program helps new and experienced RNs build strong clinical foundations in our Med/Surg service line and then transition into a specialty unit with support, mentorship, and a clear timeline

Mercy St. Louis’ RN Career Path Program helps new and experienced RNs build strong clinical foundations in our Med/Surg service line and then transition into a specialty unit with support, mentorship, and a clear timeline
How The Pathway Works... Step 1:Start in Med/Surg (12–18 months)
in one of these units:
- Observation Telemetry
- General Med/Surg
- Neuroscience
- Neurosurgical
- Oncology
- Orthopedics
- Trauma Surgical
Transition to a specialty unit (based on readiness, openings, and fit), such as:
- Pediatrics / PICU
- Med/Surg ICU
- Trauma/Neuro ICU
- CVICU
- Emergency Department
- Burn ICU
- Float Pool
- Structured onboarding + ongoing clinical development
- Mentorship and unit support while you build confidence
- A clear pathway into specialty practice
- Up to $10,000 NO CONTRACT sign-on incentive for RNs
- Health, dental & vision benefits starting day one
- 401(k) with employer match starting day one
- Shift differentials: days, nights, weekends
- Stay Pay Program: +$2/hr at 2, 5, 10 & 20 years (up to $8/hr)
- Education Support: RN → BSN (up to $16,000) | Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 annually
- PTO begins accruing immediately (including a volunteer day)
Education:
Nursing degree from an accredited school
License:
Active RN license in Missouri (or compact, if applicable)
Certifications:
Current BLS (AHA)
