American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring tele experience and the ability to manage cardiac drips.

• Medical Surgical Overflow unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes acute AFIB onset, CHF exacerbations, post-operative vascular, and cardiac/valve surgery patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 on the unit, 5-6:1 when floating
• Night shift, 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Must be able to float throughout Med Surg as needed
• Uses standard nursing equipment including chest tubes, drains, and other cardiac devices
• EPIC EMR used, experience highly preferred

• Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current MO/compact license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Tele experience required
• Must be able to manage all cardiac drips
• Must be able to operate an EKG machine

• Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability the first week
• Required to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13 weeks may be automatically approved, with additional time subject to leader approval and made up at the end of the assignment
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs but is never guaranteed
• Black scrub color required
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with client-approved exemptions only
• Local candidates accepted
