American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Ortho RN for a night shift position requiring 1+ years of inpatient hospital experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

• Work in the Medical Surgical Orthopedic Unit of a hospital setting
• 18-bed unit focused on post-surgical orthopedic patient care
• Night shift schedule, 4x12, 19:00-07:00
• Every other full weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) unless otherwise approved
• No call requirements
• Must be able to float throughout Med Surg as needed
• Standard nursing equipment used on the unit
• EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of recent inpatient hospital experience required
• Must be able to manage all cardiac drips
• Must be able to operate an EKG machine
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
• Work within scope of nursing practice consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring availability the entire orientation week
• Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers November 1 through April 1, with client-approved exemptions only
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13 weeks may be automatically approved, with additional time subject to leader approval and make-up requirements
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs but is never guaranteed
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, with local candidates restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transition to a facility outside the radius
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
