Are you passionate about animals and ready to make a meaningful impact? The Humane Society of Missouri is looking for a compassionate, people-focused Part-Time Adoption Counselor to help pets find their forever homes.
This role is perfect for someone who loves working with animals and people, and who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Schedule & Hours- 4 days per week
- Approximately 32 hours per week
- Weekday shifts: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Weekend shifts: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Weekend availability is required
- Feeding, watering, walking, and providing general care for animals
- Kennel sanitation and maintaining clean, safe living spaces
- Assessing when animals are ready to go home
- Building strong, supportive relationships with adopters
- Guiding the public through the adoption process
Adoption Counselors work with dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small companion animals while interacting with the public daily to help match pets with their future families.
What We're Looking For- A genuine passion for animal welfare
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- At least 3 months of professional animal handling experience
- At least 3 months of customer service experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Starting pay: $16/hour
