MGP Ingredients is a leading supplier of premium distilled spirits and food ingredient solutions. The company operates across the Midwestern U.S., and overseas in Northern Ireland and Mexico. Following its acquisition of Luxco and Penelope Bourbon, MGP is expanding its branded spirits business and seeks a Quality Manager to lead plant quality initiatives.

The Opportunity

Under the guidance of the Branded Spirits Quality Manager, the Quality Manager will provide quality control leadership for the plant, ensuring product safety and quality of all products produced. The role oversees quality management programs and product‑safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, SOPs, and other food‑safety certifications, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Responsible for all quality control programs, systems and instrumentation.
  • Supervise all Saint Louis quality control associates.
  • Work with R&D to ensure product specifications are developed for new products and maintained throughout batching and production.
  • Plan and conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures, including raw‑material suppliers and co‑packer audits.
  • Collaborate with Luxco Supply Chain and raw‑material suppliers on defects to assure proper crediting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions; enter documentation into the Raw Material Complaints program.
  • Conduct and/or supervise studies to determine causes of deviations and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation are properly developed, reviewed, implemented, and updated.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct all quality training or ensure training has been completed for all plant employees.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research and use problem‑solving/root‑cause analysis tools.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by the Branded Spirits Quality Manager.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Five years of experience in the food and/or beverage manufacturing industry, with at least three years in a quality‑management role.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental regulations concerning beverage manufacturing operations (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Experience setting up and controlling plant procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to control quality systems effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and analytical skills, with proficient use of Microsoft Windows and Office.
Physical Requirements
