Security Officer

Safety and Security Manager

$19.00 per hour

Controls access to the property, screens guests, and ensures that they are following museum policies and procedures. Periodically conducts patrols of the property.

• Screen and greet guests and employees entering the property and make sure that they are authorized to enter.
• Responsible for reports and enforcing all museum policies at all gates into and out of the museum.
• Patrol the property to ensure locations are secure and that there are no individuals trespassing.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the building.
• Respond to calls for service.
• Escort guests/employees off property when applicable.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
• Complete paperwork and incident reports as necessary.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Law enforcement training or criminal justice classes preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ previous security experience preferred.
• Must have or have ability to obtain a Metropolitan Security license.
• EMT license a plus.
• Knowledge of EVolv or other weapons detection system(s) a plus.
• Possess good oral and written English skills and be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively.
• Available to work overtime.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.

• Must be able to walk and stand for up to eight hours a shift.
• Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
