Role & Responsibilities- Maintain honey beehives at client sites on a minimum three week cycle, carrying out tasks to support bee health throughout the beekeeping season. Tasks include:
Installation;
Routine maintenance;
Data collection;
Record-keeping;
Pest / parasite control;
Facilitating educational workshops. - Drive regularly in your city including to client sites, yards, equipment and bee suppliers.
- Engage with clients and tenants about the services Alvéole offers (currently including beehives, beehomes, data collected through samples).
- Autonomous, results-driven and goal-oriented.
- Sensitive to Alvéole’s mission and standards in client engagement.
- Resourceful with the ability to anticipate change and adjust priorities accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working alone.
- Good communicator in-person.
- Experience in beekeeping.
- Comfortable working at heights and in buildings.
- Comfortable with public speaking or presenting to a group in English.
- Interest in pollinators, beekeeping, urban greening and/or Environmental Social Governance.
- Valid driver’s license for more than 3 years with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving in cities.
- Location to ship, receive, and store beekeeping items.
- Comfortable with beekeeping hazards (stings, heavy lifting, inclement weather, etc.).
- Heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Comfortable using online communications tools (e.g., Gmail, Google Workspace, digital inspections and scheduling software).
- Willingness and ability to work when services are needed.
- Customer service experience is an asset.
