Job Description & How to Apply Below
Mobile Diesel–Hydraulic Service SpecialistA Day On the Road Sunup finds you rolling out in a well-equipped service vehicle, headed to a customer site in the St. Louis metro area. A call came in about a pressure drop on a hydraulic circuit—by 8:00 a.m. you’re on the floor, gauges connected, reading the schematic, and tracing the issue to a worn valve.
By midday, you’ve replaced the failed component, flushed the system, verified pressures, and documented the repair. The afternoon takes you to a second stop for scheduled PM on diesel-driven rotating equipment. You finish with a run-up test, brief the customer on findings, log everything in the work order, and head home. Some days you’ll stay over for a project outside the metro, but most nights you sleep in your own bed.
What You’ll Own On-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical equipment powered by diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
Hands-on work with pumps, motors, bearings, shafts, seals, rotating assemblies, gearboxes, and mechanical drive components.
Use of testing tools, visual inspections, service literature, and hydraulic schematics to isolate faults and determine root causes.
Execution of preventive maintenance and scheduled services; identification of worn/failed parts and selection of appropriate corrective actions.
Removal, repair, installation, and alignment of mechanical and hydraulic components.
Startup, functional testing, and commissioning support after repairs or installations.
Clear, professional communication with customers about equipment condition, recommended work, and maintenance plans.
Accurate documentation of diagnostics, work performed, parts used, and test results.
Independent field work with access to technical support when needed.
Care and upkeep of company tools, service vehicle, and safety equipment; adherence to company and customer safety protocols.
Where You’ll Work Primarily in the field supporting customers across the St. Louis region and nearby territories, with periodic work in the company shop.
