Pay Range$45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
OverviewResponsible for assessing and assisting fathers participating in the Fathers’ Support Center programs. Develop individual self‑sufficiency plans to help fathers become emotionally involved and financially responsible for their children.
Responsibilities- Become acquainted with youth curriculum and tailor it to meet youths’ needs.
- Assist with identifying achievable goals, addressing barriers, and providing personal support and counsel to participants as they achieve their goals.
- Present educational materials, information, and outlets on social issues faced by youths such as self‑esteem, values, teen pregnancy prevention, substance abuse awareness, peer pressure, and violence prevention.
- Act as liaison between youths, home, school, family services, courts, and others to resolve youth issues and daily life problems.
- Collect documentation from youths and involved entities to maintain case history, records, and reports.
- Develop and maintain a network of community resources and social support systems to assist individuals and their families in achieving self‑sufficiency.
- Observe parent/child interactions and process child‑abuse/neglect applications as needed.
- Review and possess working knowledge of all programs, forms, and grants related to duties.
- Serve as backup for the Director of Youth Services as needed.
- Attend all staff meetings, department meetings, and community fairs; travel as required.
- Knowledge of human behavior, performance, differences, personality, and interests.
- Knowledge of current issues affecting and ability to relate to at‑risk youth.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals.
- Organize, present information, work team‑oriented, independently, and multitask.
- Understanding and practice of the NASW code of ethics; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- BSW or B.S. in Human Services or related field required; MSW preferred.
- Experience working with at‑risk populations and prior work with group facilitation, individual and family counseling.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle.
