The Senior Development Officer works closely with the Regional Vice President to design and execute a comprehensive development strategy for major and planned gift prospects for the regional Mercy Health Foundations. This position solicits for hospital program capital campaign gifts and ongoing fundraising efforts. This individual will work with Mercy physicians as part of the grateful patient program. This position performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute major gift strategy for hospital and health system prospects.
- Solicit gifts for capital campaign and ongoing fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and staff to secure philanthropic support.
- Maintain high standards of ethics, mission alignment, and service.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree. - Experience:
3-5 years of successful principal and major gifts experience. - Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated success soliciting major gifts ($10,000+), experience working with all levels of leadership, and experience securing philanthropic support for a hospital or health system. - Preferred Certification/Registration: CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive).
