Description

The Resident Support Staff is responsible for the day, evening, overnight, and weekend monitoring and following of safety and security of Our Lady's Inn house and clients. The Resident Support Staff will also provide client transportation and prepare/serve meals to clients. In addition, the person in this role must commit to the agency's pro-life mission.

Schedule:
Friday 4p-10p;
Saturday 2p-10p;
Sunday 2p-10p


Essential Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to):
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic, professional relationships with clients.
  • Orients new clients to rules, programs, expectations, and household responsibilities during their stay.
  • Performs client room checks to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Addresses problems that arise with clients and takes appropriate action when emergencies arise.
  • Maintains knowledge of and encourages clients to follow expectations in the Handbook, including curfew and mandatory meal attendance.
  • Answers phones and greets visitors, maintaining professional and courteous interactions.
  • Follows security protocols.
  • Dispenses supplies to clients and records dispensed supplies in the log.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of facility by storing donated items, washing, and putting away house laundry, straightening cabinets, keeping office area clean, preparing cleaning supplies, and may assist in taking out the trash.
  • Assists in meal preparation as may be needed and help with kitchen clean-up. Makes sure the clients leave the dining room and the kitchen clean.
  • Records each donation for processing as an in-kind gift in the receipt book and gives the original receipt to the donor; keeps a copy of the receipt.
  • Inspects household responsibilities upon completion to ensure that they are done appropriately, timely, and thoroughly. Works with clients who need additional supervision or guidance in completing household responsibilities.
  • Records pertinent shift activities in logbook.
  • Attends monthly all staff meetings and other team meetings as required.
Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.

Experience: Experience in residential setting or work in related field. Ability to interact professionally with clients, maintaining proper boundaries, aiding where necessary and following safety protocols. Knowledge of pregnancy, child development and homelessness are preferred as well as familiarity with area agencies and community resources.

Skills and Abilities: Organized, dependable, patient, detail oriented, flexible, and able to handle emergency situations. Good oral and written communication skills.

Other: Must have valid driver's license in good standing and proof of vehicle insurance.

Physical Requirements: Ability to climb and descend stairs; ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
