Location: St. Louis

Location: Northeast Region. This is for an H & I Position in the NE Resources unit.

This position is an hourly position, up to 20 hours per week. Preferred applicant has case management experience in Child Welfare.

The Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.

The Department of Social Services – Children’s Division cares for at-risk children and families by providing family preservation and reunification services, investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, and conducting foster care and adoption case management. These duties would be but is not limited to assistance with assisting in quarterly home visits, assisting with renewals and other paperwork required for licensing. The worker can also help with the completion of licensing paperwork for the BINTI system. This worker could also assist with revocations and other administrative duties within the resources world. The NE region resource team currently has one vacancy, but even if they are fully staffed the caseloads are extremely high.

Each worker is carrying over 120 homes on the licensing side.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or High School Equivalent;
and Four or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.
OR

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college university and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

(A combination of earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in the preferred fields such as social work, family and child development, special education, psychology, sociology, or related behavioral sciences and experience described may substitute for the stated qualifications. 30 credit hours are equivalent to 1 year of experience. Professional experience as described must be of a substantial period of time (over 50% of time)).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Must be able to type accurately (preferred 30 words per minute)
  • Possess the ability to learn the unique computer software necessary for the job

This is a hourly, temporary, non-benefited position.
