Jr-Mid Software Developer; Back-End

We’re seeking a backend-focused software developer to enhance and maintain mission applications. This position will involve updating existing codebases, integrating new capabilities, and troubleshooting complex issues across multiple systems. The role requires collaborating closely with other developers to improve performance, ensure reliability, and implement new features in support of critical operations.

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend services, APIs, and database integrations.

Participate in Agile development cycles—standups, planning sessions, and iteration reviews.

Manage code in version control systems, apply Dev Ops practices, and follow secure coding standards.

Contribute to cloud-hosted application development, including system administration tasks and integration of open-source tools into existing government software.

Implement API and database changes to support web applications using front-end frameworks and data visualization libraries.

Create, refine, and test functionality in alignment with acceptance criteria.

Collaborate with team members to review work items, plan deliverables, and maintain documentation.

Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SC preferred)

• DOD 8570 Compliant Certification (Sec+) or willingness to get quickly.

Experience diagnosing and resolving complex backend issues in production systems.

Hands‑on experience with Python for backend development.

Knowledge of cloud-based architectures, web services (REST, SOA), and virtualization technologies.

Ability to use CI/CD tools, unit testing frameworks, and modern development pipelines.

Strong communication skills for working in collaborative, cross‑functional teams.

Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.

4+ years working in Linux and/or Windows server environments.

Experience with geospatial or aeronautical datasets.

Familiarity with infrastructure automation templates in a major cloud provider.

Proficiency with Node.js, NPM, REST API design, and related backend technologies.

Experience in front‑end integration (Redux, React, or similar frameworks).

Dev Ops certification or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with collaborative development tools and processes.
