Cost Engineering Team is looking for a Software Engineer II. The engineer is responsible for driving financial visibility, cost efficiency, and long‑term economic sustainability across our cloud infrastructure. We blend engineering, data analysis, and financial insight to ensure that every technical decision upholds availability while preserving cost efficiency.

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade‑offs.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in “keep the lights on” & on‑call efforts.
• Contribute to a sense of community by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process.

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building cost visibility via tagging and creating cost savings opportunities via cost analysis.
• Ability to turn a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that integrates multiple components, producing clear, well‑tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging, and providing thoughtful code‑review feedback.
• Proactive ownership of personal growth and feedback from team/manager/stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with a global team.
• Either equivalent practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Pay Grade: L
Equity Grade: 6

Base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $160,000 – $210,000 per year.
Base pay range (other U.S. states): $142,000 – $192,000 per year.
