Job Title:
Service Now Development Lead
Location:St. Louis, MO (On-site)
Employment Type:Contract (W2 through Zip Staff — No C2C or 1099)
About the Opportunity:Zip Staff is seeking a Service Now Development Lead to lead and contribute to a strategic greenfield reset of the Service Now platform at a major utility organization.
You will rebuild and enable core modules following Service Now best practices and the Common Service Data Model, prioritizing out-of-the-box configuration to reduce technical debt. This is a hands-on leadership seat.
What You’ll Do:- Lead and contribute to a greenfield Service Now instance built to best practices and CSDM standards.
- Rebuild and enable ITSM, On-call, Platform Analytics, Employee Center, Collaborative Work Management, Integrations, SAM, HAM, Strategic Portfolio Management, Business Continuity, GRC/IRM (Vendor Risk Management), Now Assist for ITSM, and Virtual Agent.
- Drive out-of-the-box configuration where possible and minimize custom technical debt.
- Design and implement integrations and platform standards.
- Guide development decisions and ensure solutions are scalable and supportable.
- 8+ years of Service Now platform experience, with recent hands-on development and configuration.
- Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to a greenfield or major platform reset.
- Strong knowledge of Service Now best practices and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Hands-on experience with multiple of the following: ITSM, On-call, Platform Analytics, Employee Center, SAM, HAM, SPM, Business Continuity, GRC/IRM, Now Assist, Virtual Agent.
- Experience designing and implementing Service Now integrations.
- Ability to balance out-of-the-box configuration with necessary customization.
- Able to work on-site in St. Louis, MO.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Service Now certifications (CSA, CAD, or module-specific).
- Utility or regulated industry experience.
- Prior experience reducing technical debt on a Service Now platform.
