Sr. Data Enterprise Engineer

BJC is hiring for a Enterprise Data Engineer. The Data Engineer develops, tests, and maintains reliable data pipelines and datasets that support reporting, analytics, and data science. This role integrates data from multiple sources, improves data quality and performance, and collaborates with architects, developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design and deliver maintainable data solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience developing, testing, and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, including complex queries and query performance tuning.
• Experience using Python or another programming language for data transformation and automation.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data quality validation.
• Experience troubleshooting data pipeline failures, identifying root causes, and supporting production data processes.
• Familiarity with version control, testing practices, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with data scientists, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to participate in a scheduled, week‑long on‑call rotation, including after‑hours, weekend, and holiday coverage during assigned weeks.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building and optimizing complex data pipelines, platforms and architectures that support advance analytics, reporting, and operational systems across the enterprise.
