(Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $180.00 bi-weekly.)
Incumbents in this position stock, order and distribute equipment, supplies, property and materials for the Airport. Examples of duties include: data entry of all items into a computerized inventory system; receiving, storing and distributing supplies and property, purging items and maintaining accurate inventory balances.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :- Receives, inspects and compares incoming stock with shipping and receiving information.
- Completes and files stock issue, surplus, material safety data and property control records.
- Loads and unloads supplies and materials.
- Delivers materials and equipment to Airport Authority departments.
- Reviews stock quantities - conducts inventories of property control and stock assets.
- Provides high quality customer service to internal and external customers and vendors.
- Operates fork lift and other light vehicles.
- Performs warehouse housekeeping duties and reorganizes stock storage areas.

Requires the ability to process, calculate, compute, summate, and/or tabulate data and/or information. Includes the ability to perform subsequent action in relation to these computational operations. - Human Interaction:
Requires the ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to others within well-established policies, procedures and standards. Ability to follow specific instructions and respond to simple requests from others. - Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Materials Use:
Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustment on equipment, machinery and tools such as a computer, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. - Verbal Aptitude:
Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information such as requisitions, purchase orders, expenditure reports, policies and procedures. - Mathematical Aptitude:
Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. - Functional Reasoning:
Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Involves semi-routine standardized work, with some latitude for independent judgment regarding choices of action. - Situational Reasoning:
Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties that may be subject to frequent change. - Environmental Factors:
Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as traffic hazards. - Physical Requirements:
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work that may involve some lifting of moderately heavy objects and materials, twenty (20) to one hundred (100) pounds. Tasks require the ability to stoop, kneel, balance, bend, and climb in order to perform delivery duties. - Sensory Requirements:
Requires the ability to recognize and identify individual characteristics of colors, shapes, and sounds associated with job-related objects, materials and tasks.
- May report for Snow Call operations.
- A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions is Lambert International Airport.
One year of recent record keeping experience that includes some inventory control using a computerized inventory control system. OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
