Culinary Assistant

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Plans production activities (and/or assists co-workers, as needed) to ensure appropriate and timely production of food to fulfill menu requirements.
• Portions/serves food neatly and attractively.
• Maintains established portion control when portioning/serving foods.
• Covers, labels, and dates all opened, prepped, or leftover food items placed in storage.
• Prepares food items according to standardized recipes; produces a quality product.
• Checks temperatures of food products to verify that cooking and holding temperatures are within acceptable ranges; corrects temperature problems.
• Maintains frozen and refrigerated food storage area by assisting with storing deliveries, rotating stock, on a FIFO method, and keeping walk-in freezer and coolers neat and orderly.

• Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Quality cooking experience preferred; food service experience preferred.
