Role DescriptionThe Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in St.
-Paul, NB, responsible for overseeing all clinical nursing operations within the community. This position directs, supervises, and supports nursing staff to ensure high-quality, person-centered care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and standards. Daily responsibilities include coordinating resident care plans, monitoring clinical outcomes, managing staffing and scheduling, and collaborating with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families. The Director of Nursing will implement best practices in infection prevention, safety, and quality improvement, and will lead training, coaching, and performance evaluation of nursing team members.
The role also involves participating in budget planning, managing clinical resources, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to a positive, values-driven work environment.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable jurisdiction and strong clinical nursing experience in senior living, long-term care, or post-acute settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising nursing staff, managing teams, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in care planning, resident assessment, and clinical documentation, including familiarity with electronic health records and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience with quality assurance, infection prevention, risk management, and compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, and external partners.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; relevant leadership or gerontology certifications are an asset.
