Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are looking for a detail-focused Accounts Payable Clerk to join a contract opportunity supporting a busy finance team in New Brighton, Minnesota. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate, high-volume invoice handling and wants to contribute in a collaborative office setting within the energy and natural resources industry. The role will focus on processing payables, maintaining organized financial records, and assisting the department with day-to-day accounts payable activities.

Responsibilities:

- Process freight and supplier invoices by entering payment information into Sage and related trade management systems.

- Handle large volumes of invoice data with a consistent focus on precision, completeness, and timely entry.

- Review and code invoices appropriately to support accurate accounts payable records and downstream processing.

- Assist with check run preparation and other routine accounts payable support tasks as needed by the team.

- Partner with the Accounts Payable Supervisor to help manage daily workflow priorities and departmental requests.

- Provide administrative support tied to invoice tracking, documentation, and general accounts payable operations.

Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable, accounting, banking, or a similar office-based financial support role.

- Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts and standard payable procedures is preferred.

- Strong data entry ability with a high level of accuracy and careful attention to detail.

- Experience with invoice processing and coding invoices in an accounting environment.

- Familiarity with check runs and other routine accounts payable activities is beneficial.

- Comfortable working in a quiet, team-oriented office environment.
