Writer – House Public Information Services
Full-time temporary at-will positions are available with the Minnesota House of Representatives as writers for the nonpartisan Public Information Services office.
ResponsibilitiesDuties are to provide online content during the 2026 legislative session, including on-site, same-day committee and floor session coverage. Longer, in-depth feature stories will also be sought. Strong reporting and writing skills are required, and news reporting experience is strongly encouraged. Must be able to write clearly and quickly about complex subjects.
QualificationsUnderstanding of state government, legislative and office procedures a must. Some long and irregular hours may be required.
CompensationHourly wage is $29.34 - $52.80 commensurate with experience. Positions are anticipated to begin in mid-February and run approximately through the end of May, depending on session length.
