Licensed Dental Assistant position at Dental Associates MN, located in St. Paul.

Join our busy practice as a licensed dental assistant, supporting our dental team with patient care, instrument management, and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort.
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed.
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
  • Assist the dentist with 4‑handed dentistry.
  • Undertake laboratory tasks as instructed.
  • Provide oral hygiene education and post‑operative care instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑stocked dental room.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment processing.
Skills
  • Proven experience as a dental assistant.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing (a plus).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well‑organized and reliable.
  • High school diploma; completion of a dental assistant program preferred.
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA).
Requirements
  • Current Minnesota Dental Assistant License (LDA).
  • Strong understanding of sterilization protocols, OSHA/CDC standards, and dental instruments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young patients and families.
  • Organized, flexible, and able to adapt in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Positive energy and a team‑first attitude.
Additional Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited dental assistant program preferred.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., coronal polishing, EFDA) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in dental software and digital X‑ray systems.
