Licensed Dental Assistant position at Dental Associates MN, located in St. Paul.
Join our busy practice as a licensed dental assistant, supporting our dental team with patient care, instrument management, and clinical procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed.
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
- Assist the dentist with 4‑handed dentistry.
- Undertake laboratory tasks as instructed.
- Provide oral hygiene education and post‑operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and well‑stocked dental room.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment processing.
- Proven experience as a dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing (a plus).
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Well‑organized and reliable.
- High school diploma; completion of a dental assistant program preferred.
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA).
- Current Minnesota Dental Assistant License (LDA).
- Strong understanding of sterilization protocols, OSHA/CDC standards, and dental instruments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young patients and families.
- Organized, flexible, and able to adapt in a fast‑moving environment.
- Positive energy and a team‑first attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited dental assistant program preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., coronal polishing, EFDA) are a plus.
- Proficiency in dental software and digital X‑ray systems.
