Overview
The San Marcos Public Library, a department of the City of San Marcos, provides citizens with library materials, educational programs, free computer and Internet services, and workforce support for job seekers and adult learners. The Ameri Corps Member will provide technology support and one‑on‑one Digital Navigation to members of our community, including seniors and individuals facing barriers to employment or education.
MemberDuties (Responsibilities)
- Conduct program participant intakes; design individualized Digital Development Plans and provide digital literacy instruction at host sites.
- Support program participants’ certification through one‑on‑one mentorship and group tutoring using Northstar.
- Update or create digital resource guides and make referrals based on intake goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through post‑participation follow‑up surveys that track increased confidence in digital literacy skills and employment gains.
- Serve in‑person at host sites, providing one‑on‑one Digital Navigation appointments, walk‑in technology assistance, and help set up Northstar.
Tues. & Weds. (9 AM–7 PM), Thurs. (10 AM–7 PM) (or at training), Fri. (10 AM–6 PM), Sat. (10 AM–2 PM).
