Listen Up! Youth Radio is a worker‑self‑directed nonprofit that nurtures youth employment, media production training, and civic engagement. The organization operates a weekly youth‑hosted radio program, a youth media entrepreneurship cooperative, a Summer Media Institute, Youth Forums, and media education services for schools and community groups.
Member Duties- Co‑facilitate after‑school and summer programs with youth leaders for high school students on radio broadcasting, audio and multimedia storytelling, journalism, media literacy, media justice, career readiness, dialogue facilitation, and worker‑cooperative literacy.
- Support youth to lead media workshops for schools and local youth organizations, co‑facilitating these events as needed.
- Integrate technology education, financial literacy, and career readiness training into programming with a focus on media entrepreneurship and worker‑cooperative models.
