The Carlson Global Institute (CGI) Education Abroad team plans and executes business education abroad programs for undergraduate and graduate students at the Carlson School of Management. Unique among public business schools, all Carlson undergraduates complete an international experience as a part of their degree. The Education Abroad team is a highly dynamic cross‑functional group of 8‑10 international education professionals who work collaboratively to deliver high quality programs to a diverse population of students.
This position leads the implementation and administration of a portfolio of faculty‑led short‑term education abroad courses for CGI. The position reports to the Education Abroad Program Director and works directly with University of Minnesota faculty and students, program providers, and international partners.
As needed, this position will work dynamically to support all areas within education abroad programming including domestic courses, exchange partnerships and programming and DEI activities.

This position is based in Minneapolis on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The program manager may be able to perform up to two workdays each week remotely, dependent on team coverage, event scheduling and in line with the college's flexible work guidelines.
Job Description Program Development & Implementation - 50%- Manage a portfolio of education abroad programs, which includes the implementation of all overseas arrangements, course schedules and related logistics, student recruitment, admissions, advising, orientation, health and safety, and registration processes.
- Lead and coordinate systematic evaluation of programs, analyze student evaluations, interpret data and make recommendations for improving the quality of the educational and cultural experience for students.
- Assist program directors with recruiting faculty and preparing selected faculty to lead and teach short‑term programs and collaborate with faculty on program development.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (faculty, students, program providers, partner universities, program directors) to organize logistical arrangements, deliver related content, arrange program seminars, site visits, excursions and other details for faculty‑led short‑term programs as needed.
- Oversee and manage contract processing and purchase order submissions for faculty‑led programs. Troubleshoot and problem solve contract issues in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel.
- Forecast, develop, and monitor budgets and manage revenue and expenses for program portfolio. Pay invoices for program expenses and develop reports for Program Director as needed for a portfolio of program budgets.
- Travel abroad to serve as staff leader supporting faculty‑led program as needed in January, Spring Break or May sessions.
- Interpret and implement department and university policies and procedures in the development of education abroad programs, and while serving as staff leader.
- Develop and update communication plans and materials associated with education abroad programs including but not limited to promotional materials, program websites, presentations, and pre‑departure messaging to multiple stakeholders.
- Represent CGI at school and university‑wide promotional, prospective student and outreach events (e.g., Orientations, MBA Networking Events, Learning Abroad Fair, EAN), at professional conferences, with partner universities and program providers.
