Job Details

A bachelor’s degree with 15 semester hours of instruction in social services-related instruction and one year experience in counseling or related field.

• Utilizes the Personal Career Development Plan to guide each student’s career path and provide feedback to students on achievement or lack of achievement in all assessment areas.
• Provide individual and group guidance to all students on assigned caseload through scheduled individual and group counseling sessions to address personal needs, career goals, and resolve issues and/or concerns.
• Conducts and documents structured and ongoing scheduled individual career counseling sessions to support career growth and achievement.
• Assists students in developing career goals, personal career development plans, and tracks progress to counsel students on achieving short- and long-term goals.
• Uses labor market information to advise students regarding career outlook for their chosen career technical training, abilities, and career goals.
• Serves as a contact person for matters relating to career development and job readiness of students assigned to caseload.
• Interfaces with staff providing services or training to students assigned to caseload to remain abreast of each student’s progress and Career Success Standards achievement.
• Informs CDP Team Manager of changes, progress and/or lack of progress concerning students’ performance and/or program achievement.

• Conducts Evaluation of Student Progress Panels monthly or every sixty (60) days for each student assigned to caseload to determine job readiness and graduation status prior to the beginning of Career Transition Services.
• Keeps abreast of all correspondence and changes related to CDSS in an effort to provide current information and quality services to students.
• Evaluates student readiness for Career Transition Services to ensure a smooth transition from center to post – center services.
• Assures necessary confidentiality of student information and safeguard their right to privacy.
• Maintains individual counseling file on all students assigned to caseload containing supportive documentation of all counseling services provided during enrollment.

A valid Driver’s License is required.
