The Christopher Center Pathways Program, designed for Grades 2‑6 students with dyslexia, uses the Orton‑Gillingham approach to support reading, spelling, writing, and maths.

Position Begins:

Salary: $22,000‑$33,000 (based on start date and experience)

Ideal qualities
The candidate should be innovative, collaborative, culturally competent, and deeply knowledgeable about neurodiversity. They will report to the Director of the Center of Learning and Teaching.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field with supervised experience and coursework in child and adolescent development. Experience in Gifted Education is preferred but not required.
• Orton‑Gillingham Associate‑level certification (required).
• 3+ years of teaching experience.
• Experience working with students diagnosed with dyslexia, other learning disabilities, and/or ADHD.
• Knowledge of the Orton‑Gillingham approach, including multisensory language therapy, student error analysis, progress tracking, math, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing instruction.
• Training in a multisensory approach to mathematics instruction.
• Strong technology skills and familiarity with assistive technology for students with language‑based learning differences.
• Strong interest or experience in teaching social studies/history.
• Experience with reading/writing workshop models (preferred).

• Create developmentally appropriate curricula.
• Establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction and materials to meet all students’ needs.
• Collaborate with teaching partners, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including cross‑cultural communication and rapport building with diverse students, staff, and families.
