Salary Range:
Hourly rate $19.39 per hour or current rate for internal candidates.

Closing Date:
Candidates will be reviewed upon submission with selection starting no sooner than five days following the posting. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found.

Start Date:

Programs start June 8, 2026. Pre‑Summer training and site set‑up June 8‑10, 2026. Evening paid informational meetings weeks of May 14, 21, 28, 2026.

Work Week

Summer vacancies for nine‑week Extended Day and FLEX programs, open weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm June through August.

Elementary and Middle School.

Position Summary

The Extended Day and FLEX programs provide enrichment opportunities for youth. The Program Assistant Leader plans, writes, and implements youth activities, supports strong group management, teaches expectations, builds relationships, and implements student support plans. Responsibilities also include supporting student growth and related tasks as assigned. Work is performed under moderate supervision of the Out‑of‑School Time Site Supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and lead engaging activities for assigned student group.
  • Plan and organize daily program schedule and materials.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
  • Communicate with students, parents, and school staff about program progress.
  • Assist with attendance, record‑keeping, and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support for student growth and behavior management.
  • Support implementation of student support plans as needed.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (if over 18).
  • Minimal experience working with school‑aged children.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Department of Human Services training upon hire.
