General hours are Monday-Thursday classes in the evening starting around 2, classes can also be scheduled on Fridays along with campus activities, meetings and events.

Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for an unlimited, full-time Machine Tool Technology/Machinist position. The instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to instructional planning & curriculum development, teaching & learning, instructional facilitation, student evaluation, student records, student recruitment, retention and advising, student placement, classroom preparation and management, interpersonal relations, effective team member skills and duties, maintenance of professional skills and credentials.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for an unlimited, full-time (1.0) Auto Tech Instructor position. The college is committed to academic excellence in a rich environment of diversity, equity and inclusion. We are the most diverse college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System; for over 100 years, the college has been here to serve the community, local industries, and above all else, the students.

With deep roots in career and technical education, along with academic transfer, the College has prepared students for employment or transfer to colleges and universities both locally and nationally.

Instructor is responsible for:

  • Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum.
  • Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
  • Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College.
  • Promote diversity and cultural competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Required Qualifications

Education Requirement

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in automotive services technology.

Occupational Experience Requirement

  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology.
