Senior Electrical Designer

Overview

Sansom Staffing has partnered with a leader in the facilities design industry to hire a Senior Electrical Designer to join their dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. This position is located in Saint Paul, MN and requires experience in industrial and commercial facility design with a focus on remodels, upgrades, and equipment installations—not product or machine design. The ideal candidate will collaborate with experts across architectural, mechanical, and construction disciplines to deliver efficient and compliant electrical systems for a variety of facility projects.

• Design and prepare detailed drawings for power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems.

• Apply relevant industry codes and standards to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

• Conduct field reviews to document existing conditions and integrate findings into design work.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

• Support ARC Flash studies and coordinate with subcontractors as needed.

• Communicate technical details, design intent, and project updates clearly with stakeholders.

• 5+ years of electrical design experience for industrial or commercial facilities.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred;
  Electrical Construction or Design degrees also considered.

• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

• Proven ability to manage projects from field data collection through final design.

• Drafting experience preferred (beyond redline revisions).

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, Days (Overtime optional, time-and-a-half after 40 hours)
