Job Description
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all activities, projects, and personnel within the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. The role involves serving as a direct report to discipline leaders, acting as a liaison for engineering services, and interacting with various stakeholders including Market Sector Leaders, Project Managers, clients, consultants, and vendors.
Responsibilities
• Determine personnel needs based on workload and project requirements, and participate in staffing processes.
• Mentor discipline personnel through training and career development.
• Build work plans for personnel development and conduct performance evaluations.
• Administer compensation, promotions, and transfers.
• Review engineering deliverables for technical quality and compliance.
• Lead discipline meetings and design reviews.
• Discuss project objectives, requirements, and budgets with clients and staff.
• Establish design standards and review quality assurance processes.
• Participate in community events and professional development activities.
• Support publication efforts and research within disciplines.
• Oversee writing and editing of program documents and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure project compliance.
• Review code compliance with authorities having jurisdiction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead and promote teamwork among engineering professionals.
• Extensive knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
