Research Scientist
Job Title: Associate Scientist
Job Description: The associate scientist will support a large-scale project focused on investigating the impacts of sterilization on polymeric materials.
Responsibilities- Perform material characterization and evaluation using techniques such as DSC, TGA, and FTIR to support medical device project teams with diverse Materials Science requirements.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to develop and define comprehensive test plans.
- Thrive in a dynamic team environment while demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Interpret test data and prepare detailed technical reports to communicate findings effectively.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer, or Material Science, with a preference for candidates with a Master’s degree.
- 1+ years of industry experience performing DSC, ideally with polymers but open to other materials as well.
- Previous experience performing multiple projects at one time.
- 6+ months of experience documenting lab work either electronically or on paper, with a preference for experience in a GMP environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TGA, FTIR, Raman, or Thermal Analysis.
- Experience with Trios or Omnic Software.
- Experience with Lab Vantage ELN.
- Experience with polymer characterization and understanding of structure/property relationships.
The associate scientist will spend approximately 65% of their time conducting tests and 35% writing reports based on testing findings. The role is project-based but holds potential for permanent growth. It offers a fast‑paced and collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to share insights and work together towards common goals.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
