Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating large engineering assignments with overall responsibility for budget adherence, schedule adherence, quality control, and inter‑discipline coordination.
  • May plan and develop engineering projects concerning unique or controversial problems, offering highly specialized knowledge and skills in a particular branch of engineering.
  • Maintains liaison with individuals within and outside the firm with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the chosen field.
  • Supervision received is essentially administrative and assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
  • May plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of a team of engineers and designers working on the same assigned project.
  • Takes an active part in client contact and business development activities. Prepares or supervises preparation of contract proposals and participates in presentations.
  • Meets regularly with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
  • Accepts or rejects major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer’s quality, and field construction.
  • Maintains continuing professional education as detailed in registered states' voluntary or mandatory requirements.
  • Travel required.
