Job Summary
DEED is committed to radically increasing economic impacts for individuals and businesses that face systematic barriers to growth. The Project and Grant Management Assistant will aid in the development of various projects and grants in the Youth Development Division. The position will assist grant managers with management of Direct Appropriation grants and other state and federal programs. In addition, this position will assist with preparing reports for key stakeholders, financial documents related to grant expenditures, funding and grant contracting processes, and other responsibilities related to the administration of youth grants.
Some examples of work for this position are listed below, but are not limited to the following.
- Assist in outreach to local Grantee staff to assess technical assistance/training needs related to program implementation and operations
- Schedule, prepare materials for, and participate in meetings, trainings, or webinars with key stakeholders
- Assist with tracking, and recording of grants and grant expenditures
- Assist with updating and identifying areas of improvement to policy and reporting documents
- Assist with program data collection and its evaluation and analysis
- Assist in Request for Proposals process for funding issued by DEED/Office of Youth Development
- Conduct other duties assisting in the development of the DEED and Employment and Training Programs (ETP) youth programs
- Become knowledgeable on related youth employment topics, best practices, and grants management
- Provide formal and informal project updates to the Youth Development team on a regular basis
This is a limited unclassified position and may be used to fill multiple positions. The initial appointment is for one (1) year with the option to extend two (2) additional years if funding remains available and student requirements are met. This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment.
