- Shift Information: Float – Day Shift | 8‑hour shifts, varying between 7:15 AM (earliest) and 5:30 PM (latest) CST
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the organization to patients across multiple clinical and service locations. This position requires a skilled, dependable professional capable of drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for testing, and ensuring patient comfort and confidence throughout the process. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment, demonstrates leadership behaviors, and maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection accurately, following all established procedures.
- Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining trust, professionalism, and patient comfort.
- Travel between assigned sites (AKFT, AKEN, AKEV, AKFG, AKFJ) as business needs dictate.
- Verify patient identity and ensure labeling accuracy for all specimens.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all collections.
- Follow safety and quality control procedures at all times.
- Assist in day‑to‑day operations under the supervision of area management.
- Promote organizational values and maintain a professional image with patients, clients, and staff.
- 3 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
- Minimum 2 years in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Experience in customer service or healthcare support environments.
- Prior experience working in multiple or float locations.
- Experience supporting hospital or physician office collections.
- Prior exposure to the locations or workflows (asset).
- Excellent phlebotomy technique and specimen handling accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control procedures.
- Flexibility to cover multiple shifts and weekend/holiday rotations.
- Leadership and mentoring within a team setting.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different work environments.
- Commitment to health, safety, and professionalism standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
