People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking an ARC Outreach Practitioner to join our Access & Recovery Center (ARC) Outreach Team based out of our drop-in center in St. Paul. The ARC Outreach Team simultaneously embeds ARMHS and Outreach services for adults
, treating individuals experiencing housing instability and co-occurring mental health illnesses. We utilize a person-centered team approach to help clients meet their goals and better manage overall wellness and mental health. We offer a different approach to homeless outreach, utilizing expertise across multiple programs to address co-occurring conditions of mental health, substance use, and/or other complexities. This role requires candidates to provide street outreach and engage with clients both in the community and at our drop-in center, meeting individuals where they are at.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm. There is some flexibility in the schedule. Mandatory hours from 7:00am to 12:00pm are required for the drop-in center.

Location: ARC Team Drop-In Center (317 York Ave, St. Paul MN 55130) and the St. Paul area to meet with clients in the community.

Hiring Range - Wage varies based on qualifications.

Main

Job Duties
  • Provide outreach to people living unsheltered in encampments and other community locations to actively engage, assess and connect individuals living on the streets with essential services, resources and support to address their immediate needs and facilitate pathways to stability.
  • Using person-centered principles, actively engage clients in their mental health recovery, and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.
  • Facilitate and conduct individual services that address a variety of needs and health concerns for the client. May facilitate and conduct group interventions, if applicable.
  • Provide collateral information for conduct interviews and gather information to inform treatment planning, plan-of-care reviews and discharge plans as needed or directed.
  • Document interactions and interventions with clients, according to program requirements, into the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and/or record-keeping system.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional and/or behavioral responses while prioritizing client and program safety.
  • Participate in coordination of services through the recognition of the multiple needs of the client, with other providers in the community, in an effort to provide necessary resources to the client.
  • Provide various skill‑building, teaching and/or coaching, as it relates to the individual’s goal and/or treatment plan.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma and:
    • 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental Illness, Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities OR:
    • 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional once a week until 4,000 hours of experience is met

OR

  • Has completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or a related field and
    • Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields OR;
    • Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or related field
    • Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields OR;
