Job Summary:

Summit Companies is a leading fire protection company seeking an Azure Data Warehouse Developer to manage and transform data efficiently. The role involves designing and implementing scalable data warehouses, developing data pipelines, and preparing infrastructure for AI-driven projects.

Responsibilities:

• Data Warehouse Development:
Help design, development, and implementation of a scalable and efficient data warehouse using Azure Fabric using the Medallion Architecture.

• Design & Development:
Implement and maintain robust data pipelines on Azure (Data Factory, Synapse), handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

• Data Modeling:
Develop and implement complex data models that support data analytics, reporting, and future AI initiatives.



Collaboration:

Work closely with reporting, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.

• AI Readiness:
Prepare the data warehouse infrastructure to support future artificial intelligence and machine learning projects, ensuring data is structured and accessible for advanced analytics.

• Best Practices & Standards:
Establish and enforce best practices for SQL development, data governance, and security within the data warehouse environment.

• Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data warehouse architecture, ETL processes, and data models.

• Give development teams advice, thought leadership, and mentoring to help them enhance their cloud competencies.

• Ensure application size, performance, and up time while upholding strict code quality criteria.

• Manage cloud environments in compliance with the organization’s security policies.

• Utilize Cloud’s automation technology possibilities.

• SDLC & Dev Ops:
Lead and improve CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing strategies for reliable deployments and upgrades.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school Diploma, or equivalent, required.

• 5+ years of experience in SQL development and data warehousing with a proven track record of designing and delivering production-grade data pipelines in a cloud environment.

• 3+ years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions in Azure data services (Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.).

• Proven experience with transactionally consistent data lake solutions, ACID compliance, and time-travel features.

• Experience with data integration and ETL tools, preferably in an Azure environment.

• Proficient in data modeling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas.

• Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

• Must be able to comply with SFPH’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer-specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant discipline, strongly preferred.

• Cloud certifications in the specialized area, strongly preferred.

• Experience with AI and machine learning technologies is a plus.

• Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize, preferred.
