Associate Attorney

Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation (St. Paul, MN)

Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP is looking for an associate with 3+ years' experience in civil litigation to join its growing St. Paul, Minnesota office. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent writing and communication skills, and a valid Minnesota BAR license. Previous civil litigation experience is preferred and practice experience in federal courts is strongly preferred.

• Assist with day‑to‑day aspects of the firm’s litigation cases, including defending design, real‑estate, and insurance professionals in business tort matters, defending lawyers in legal malpractice matters, and defending insurance carriers in coverage matters.
• Conduct client meetings, reporting, and investigations.
• Take and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials.
• Work independently or with partner oversight depending on case size and exposure.

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal civil procedure.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Valid Minnesota BAR license.
• Preferably experience in federal courts.
