General Shop Assistant – Fed Tech
This role supports overall shop operations by performing a variety of tasks including secondary operations, basic machining, and general cleanup. It is flexible and may be assigned to different duties throughout the shop as needed.
Essential Functions- Perform secondary operations such as deburring, grinding, cleaning, counting, and packaging parts.
- Load and unload materials onto machines.
- Remove parts from machines.
- Operate basic machinery such as drill presses and mills for light machining tasks.
- Assist machine operators as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Uphold a positive company image through professionalism and teamwork.
- Perform general shop tasks as assigned.
- Take on additional duties as required.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more repeatedly and frequently throughout the shift (8–10-hour day).
- Stand for the entire duration of the shift.
