Position Summary

The Director of Foundation & Corporate Partnerships at CLUES is a progressive career opportunity for a development professional with a demonstrated record of raising funds from institutional sources. The Director will lead and execute strategies to secure funding from federal and other government agencies, corporations, and foundations to support CLUES; this support will supplement general operations, programmatic divisions, major organizational initiatives, and capital campaigns.

The Director will provide direct oversight of all event sponsor ships and partnerships to ensure alignment with organizational mission and values.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills are required to successfully represent CLUES to diverse audiences, while working effectively with CLUES' leadership and cross‑departmental teams.

  • Estimated Salary/Pay: $90,000.00 – $ (depending on experience & qualifications)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategy & Planning
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Development, create and execute strategies to meet annual fundraising goals and secure corporate, foundation, and government grants to support an operating budget of over $15 million.
  • Collaborate with CLUES leadership to prioritize areas of focus, through donor and community development.
Donor Engagement & Outreach
  • Identify and cultivate a strong pipeline of prospects through prospect research, networking, personal contact, and engagement in CLUES' annual events, such as Gala Latina, and programs.
  • Proactively schedule and lead site visits, tours, and plan meetings with funders and staff.
  • Represent CLUES externally when appropriate; promoting the mission, operating values and agency services CLUES offers within the community.
Grant Writing & Compliance
  • Draft and submit corporate, foundation, and government grant proposals, with an emphasis on major grants ($50,000 and up) in collaboration with leadership and program staff.
  • Create compelling proposals and related collateral materials, ensuring reporting and contract compliance requirements are met.
  • Align CLUES' mission, vision, and goals with funders' objectives and requirements to create successful grant applications and maintain ongoing relationships.
Leadership Duties
  • Support the Development Committee of the Board of Directors in meeting their annual fundraising goals.
  • Supervise and support the professional development of the Grant Writer; nurture a healthy, dynamic, and team‑based working environment.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Relationships
  • This position provides supervision to the Grant Writer and may supervise other interns and/or volunteers as assigned.
Qualification Requirements Education, Experience & Key Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or work experience required.
  • Five to seven years of non‑profit development and fundraising required. Senior level development and fundraising experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success and experience meeting ambitious annual fundraising goals of at least $1 million annually.
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills for compelling proposals to corporations, foundations, and government agencies for grants of $50,000 and up.
