Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patients, evidenced by documentation and positive patient care outcomes.
• Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards, as observed by the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.
• Administer medication accurately, observe client response, and document in the medical record, ensuring no negative outcomes.
• Maintain and coordinate communication among clients, staff, and physicians, as reflected in the medical record and feedback from the healthcare team.
• Client Admissions
• Narcotics Count
• Working on Prior Authorizations
• MAR audits and compliance
• Assist in ensuring effective communication with patients as reflected in the plan of care.
• Provide punctual shift change reports with pertinent information for assigned patients.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care, as evidenced by departmental feedback.
• Answer and refer telephone calls or inquiries to facilitate accurate and timely communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must have two years of freedom from chemical use problems.
• Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check.
• CPR Certification or attain within 30 days.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills.
