Department Overview
The Surgery department provides surgical services to treat multiple issues from dental/oral to urologic conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis. They assist in providing a pre-surgery program for patients, their siblings, and their parents which includes a tour of the hospital and a discussion on how the family can prepare for the upcoming hospital visit.
Position Summary
The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is considered a front-line department/unit leader. The PCS will directly lead clinical support staff and assist in the leadership of RN staff.
License/Certification/Registration
- Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required
- Current BLS required
Education
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
Experience
- 3 years of direct patient care experience within a related specialty.
- Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Desired characteristics: dependable, responsible, strong conflict resolution skills, knowledge of assigned unit, ability to multi-task, self-starter with ability to problem solve independently.
- Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
