Lead assisted living operations and provide clinical nursing oversight in a combined director and RN role. Promote resident choice, safety, and person-centered care while implementing Minnesota Department of Health requirements under chapter 144G and Minnesota Rules chapter 4659.

• Current Minnesota Licensed Assisted Living Director credential issued by the Board of Executives for Long Term Services and Supports (BELTSS), and ability to affiliate as the facility’s director of record.
  
  Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license with authority to perform the assigned nursing responsibilities. Both the LALD and RN credentials are required for this combined position.
  
  Demonstrated ability to perform resident assessments, care planning, nursing delegation, staff supervision, and safe medication management within the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act.
  
  Knowledge of chapter 144G, Minnesota Rules chapter 4659, resident rights, vulnerable adult protections, and reporting requirements.
  
  Meet applicable background study requirements, complete required orientation and training, and maintain both professional credentials and required continuing education.

• Direct daily facility operations, implement policies, oversee personnel and approved budgets, and maintain readiness for MDH surveys and investigations.
  
  Coordinate admissions only when the facility has the staff, skills, and resources to meet the resident’s assessed needs and contracted services.
  
  Oversee resident agreements, required disclosures, service coordination, grievances, and lawful transfer or discharge processes; protect resident choice, privacy, and dignity.
  
  Maintain staff qualifications, background study, orientation, training, competency, and performance records; coordinate recruitment and staff coverage.
  
  Lead quality management, incident follow-up, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and required reporting; implement and monitor corrective actions.

• Perform or oversee required RN assessments and individualized service planning. For residents requiring nursing assessment, complete the assessment and temporary service plan before the contract is signed or move-in, whichever occurs first, subject to statutory provisions.
  
  Ensure required RN reassessment within 14 calendar days after service initiation, when needs change, and at least every 90 calendar days. Apply the separate review process to residents receiving only the non-nursing services identified in section 144G.70.Develop and implement the written direct care staffing plan and 24-hour daily staffing schedule based on resident acuity, service plans, staff competency, and facility layout.
  
  Review the staffing plan at least twice yearly and when needs require.
  
  Delegate nursing tasks only to staff who are trained and demonstrate competence; document resident-specific instructions and provide required supervision and competency evaluations.
  
  Oversee medication assessments, reconciliation, administration systems, storage, documentation, error follow-up, and communication with prescribers and pharmacies when medication management is provided.
  
  Arrange RN consultation availability whenever delegated nursing tasks are performed, with documented backup coverage. Participate in the agreed-upon on-call schedule.
