The Cashier is responsible for efficient customer sales transactions at the front registers, maintaining proper control of cash, ensuring customer satisfaction, and safeguarding company assets. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department.

• Walk the store before each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items; perform produce walk and weekly testing.
• Compute bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit card, gift card, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks, or change due to customers.
• Operate cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, entering PLU or UPC manually, compiling printed list, and displaying cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen.
• Greet customers entering the store and respond promptly to customer needs.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout area and ensure no personnel items are present.
• Issue coupons and rain checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Preferred 1–2 years grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures.
• Prior experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

• Maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Adapt to the ever‑changing high volume retail environment while working in a cross‑functional team.
