Territory Development Manager – Unilever Food Solutions

Location: Remote – Minneapolis

Pay

$69,360 to $104,040

Bonus

Purpose of the Role

As a Territory Development Manager, you will drive sustainable business growth through engagement with Operators, Chains, and Trade Partners. You will work within a multi‑touchpoint integrated digital ecosystem to reach new customers and deepen penetration. You will use data, CRM tools, and virtual culinary consultation to create value and grow market share in your territory.

Demand Creation

Engage with Local Chain Accounts and Operator Customers, accountable for delivering business targets for the assigned territory: turnover, reach, penetration, digital engagement, demos, sampling, etc.

Key Activities
  • Using data to convert business insights into activation and solution selling.
  • Utilizing market trends to create concept solution selling.
  • Gaining insight and leading customers to the right solution.
  • Networking with key customer stakeholders to engage decision makers.
  • Preparing visits with solution recommendations and utilizing the Salesforce CRM system.
  • Conducting F2F and virtual sampling, ideation, and cooking demos to secure new opportunities or increase volume.
  • Following up on previous calls to ensure opportunities progress to sale close.
  • Coordinating monthly customer orders to ensure growth targets.
  • Meeting with distributors/trade partners to expand assortment and source leads.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with local distributor sales reps (DSRs).
  • Implementing contact matrix for key trade customers with a squad approach.
  • Engaging trade customers for secondary sales data alignment.
  • Implementing promotions related to key seasons and events.
  • Ensuring timely submission and settlement of claims.
Critical Skills Required
  • Hunter mentality with a focus on new demand (70% Hunting vs 30% Farming).
  • Fast adopter of contemporary technology, including AI and proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, building mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning about market trends.
  • Ability to sell premium brands with storytelling and culinary solutions.
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Mandarin).
Essential Experiences
  • CPG Food service Sales Experience (B2B Sales).
  • Culinary/Chef Selling Experience.
  • Network of existing food service operator partners.
  • Distributor sales or ingredient sales or broker sales.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce).
  • Operator experience.
  • Market/Geographical knowledge.
  • Food university background (CIA, Food & Hospitality).
  • Multi‑national corporate company experience, understanding corporate ways of working.
