Job Overview

Fairview is looking for a Security Dispatcher to join our team at our Midway location in St. Paul, MN. This position will also support our University of MN Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. The dispatcher is responsible for day‑to‑day operations of the Security Dispatch Operations Center. Job duties include monitoring a large bank of CCTV surveillance cameras, prioritizing incoming phone calls, dispatching Security Officers, operating the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, monitoring multiple fire computers, and taking appropriate actions.

The dispatcher must be customer service focused and able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

• 0.2 FTE (16 hours per pay period)
• Evening shift (2 p‑10 30 p)
• Every other weekend

Every other Saturday and Sunday at our Riverside location 2 p‑10 30 p.

This position is NOT benefit eligible.

• Monitors CCTV cameras, alarms and dispatches security officers appropriately.
• Maintains shift log of all activities during shift (CAD).
• Provides excellent customer service to callers and on‑site visitors.
• Prioritizes calls in order of importance and dispatches services appropriately.
• Ensures appropriate end‑of‑life procedures are followed, including coordinating removal of remains from patient care units, coordinating with funeral homes, working with the Pathology department or ME if required, and coordinating with donor services if requested.
• Maintains all paperwork.
• Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
• Demonstrates the ability to adjust approaches to reflect developmental levels and cultural differences of the population served.

• Associate or technical degree in telecommunications or law enforcement.
• 1‑3 years of dispatch or hospital security experience.
