• Travel: 15% for meetings

• Review, evaluate, and write licensing actions recommended by county licensing agencies.
• Provide technical assistance and training to county agency licensors.
• Assist in conducting ongoing licensing reviews (Rule 13) for county and private agencies.
• Evaluate and approve routine licensing variances, extensions, new applications, and moratorium exceptions.

• Two (2) years of high-level work experience in licensing functions related to adult foster care, community residential settings, child foster residence settings, or family adult day services.
• Utilizing qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate findings and support challenges to Department of Human Services licensing actions.
• Broad knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and laws governing licensed facilities and programs.
• Understanding of current methods used in providing services to children in licensed programs.
• Basic investigative methodology and administrative, civil, and criminal law affecting the licensing function.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services, counseling, social work, or related field (or one year of experience).

• Experience working effectively with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Proficient in computers and data entry into databases.
• Strong human relations and communication skills.

• Minnesota Department of Human Services criminal background check for finalists.
• Employee reference checks for finalists.
