St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach.
St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Salary Range: $3,800 to $4,000
St. Paul Academy and Summit School seek candidates for the position of Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach. This coach will work closely with the head of the baseball program.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, other coaches, and parents, teach and develop essential baseball skills, display positive game conduct and be able to develop individual players’ abilities in addition to encouraging dedication to teamwork. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and be able to contribute to the life of the School outside of their assigned responsibilities.
RequirementsResponsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship towards players, umpires, spectators, and teammates
- Assist with instruction of players in rules, regulations, skills, and strategy of baseball
- Organize and directs individual and small group practice activities
- Provide effective supervision and evaluation of all players during practice and competition
- Assist with determining game strategy
- Individual player development
- Assist with supervising transportation
- Assist with tracking statistics and creating scouting reports
- Follow established SPA protocol in the event of an injury
- Participates in special activities to include parents’ night, banquets, and award ceremonies
- Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department
